When major streams of music meet to become a river, CONFLUENCE is that phenomenon that brings together artists of different cultural backgrounds working on a concept having international exposure.
The Confluence's multi-cultural setting mirrors that jazz has truly become an international language. Initiated by Catalin Milea, Amsterdam based saxophonist and composer, having the NY' s most respected pianist and composer Lucian Ban, the recently Grammy awarded bassist Carlo de Rosa and the NY's in demand drummer Tommy Crane, this transoceanic group stands out with its originality and variety of compositions.
The quartet summons up an unique visual and audio spectacle, exploring a vast range of colours and intimate moods. Each member is possessed of a totally unique creativity that merges into expressing a unified soundscape. Lucian Ban’s refined chordal and melodic aproach on the piano or fender rhodes, Carlo de Rosa’s solid bass riffs and virtuosity, Tommy Crane’s rhythmical artistry and drum grooves, are joining Catalin Milea 's stream of sounds in a fiery path of musical interplay.
The quartet is a “confluence” of solistic and group improvisation, minimalist textures, free counterpoint, rhythmic conversations, dark and serene sensibility...and more, a musical journey that you will not forget. (for more info visit www.catalinmilea.com)
