The Big Two

Frank Windemuller (1975) studeerde jazzpiano aan de hogeschool voor de kunsten in Arnhem, bij Rob van den Broeck. Hij volgde verder lessen bij onder andere Michiel Borstlap, Jeff Gardner en Richard Bona. Hij speelt piano, Fender Rhodes en Hammond. Frank is een veel gevraagd jazzpianist voor band- en theaterprojecten in binnen- en buitenland. In 2009 won hij de east of eastern Jazzaward tijdens de gelijknamige Nijmeegse jazzfestival. Frank is docent piano aan de muziekschool Kleve.
Michael von Villiez studeerde aan de Musikhochschule in Lübeck klassiek contrabas, en aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem klassiek en jazz. Hij maakte deel uit van verschillende jazz- en popbands, speeld [more...]

Big Salsa Band

De Big Salsa Band is een 24 koppige band. Onder leiding van een dirigent bestaat deze band uit 3 zangers, 5 saxefonisten, 5 trompettisten, 4 trombonisten, 1 pianist, 1 bassist, en 4 percussionisten.
De Big Salsa Band is medio 2005 ontstaan uit de Big Swing Band toen bij een optreden tijdens een trouwerij enkele leden het plan vatte het al aanwezige salsa repertoire uit te breiden tot een avondvullend programma.
De band bestaat uit een combinatie van zeer gemotiveerde en enthousiaste profesionele en amateur muzikanten met een grote passie voor deze muziek.

Big Band Utrecht

For almost thirty years Big Band Utrecht belongs to the top in Dutch jazz orchestras. Many of it's musicians have had a great experience in playing music in styles deriving from Salsa to Musicals and Dance bands. So it's no wonder that this orchestra is more than capable of performing all sorts of music and accompanying some of the great internationally and nationally known artists like the great singer Denise Janah and the young tallented Vera Westera.

Ludmil Krumov

De muziek van de bulgaarse gitarist Ludmil Krumov is een smaakvolle smeltpot van de harmonische conceptuering, vorm en improvisionele elementen van eigentijdse jazz met typische kenmerken van de bulgaarse volksmuziek; de geornamenteerde melodien, ongelijke time signatures, en komplexe ritmes.

Ludmil Krumov, geboren in Svishtov, Bulgarije, begon op 6-jarige leeftijd piano te spelen.Hij groeide op in een muzikale familie; zijn vader was saxofonist/trompettist die Ludmil van de jongste jaren aan met een muzikale achtergrond opvoedde.

MICHAEL RÖRBY

Michael Rörby, trombonist, originally from Stockholm, Sweden, grew up in a house full of music, being the third son of guitarist & lutenist Jörgen Rörby, and the grandson of priest, organist & conductor Ingvar Sahlin.

At an early age he studied piano and trumpet but it wasn't until he was 19 that he picked up the trombone which soon became his main means of expression.

In 2001 he moved to The Netherlands, where he got introduced to the scene with the generous help of his friend, trumpetist Philip Harper.

In present time he commutes between Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin, where he works with different groups and artists, mainly as a soloist.

Chris Peeters

“My name is Chris, my folks did the best they could”: this is the titlesong’s opening line of Chris Peeters’ debut album “My name is Chris”. Instantly the tone is set for this lighthearted album on which the cute, sometimes a little crazy songs will make sure you’ll break into a smile while listening.
On her album she combines light swing with a spicy and energetic pop sound.
She has a strong preference for an honest and intuitive musical approach, that’s why she decided to record her album live with a band.
For this album she combined forces with producer Dennis Kolen (Wyatt, Dennis Kolen, Stefan Schill) and mixer Huub Reijnders (Bløf, Giovanca, Valerius).

Costas Andreou

Costas Andreou is a musician from Athens, Greece. He processes the sounds of fretted and fretless electric bass in real time, creating multi-level soundscapes. The organic instrument sound is processed with analog and digital effects and looped in real time, using various live looping techniques and a number of delay, feedback, tape and loop devices. The textures, the themes, the melodies and the soundscapes are created via improvisation and often are further processed during mixing. Melissa Stott

For her 2005 Feetfirst (Leo Records) debut, Why Now, Anglo-Chinese jazz songwriter and vocalist Melissa Stott was hailed by Chris Parker (Vortex, London) as “a witty, accomplished songwriter with the ability to deliver her material with beguiling, informal intimacy…[with an] ability to write clever but affecting original songs that sound like standards in the making".

Loran Daniel

Loran Daniel
His music is an energetic blend of melody-driven Jazz, R&B and Latin rhythm.

Trumpeter/composer Loran Daniel began trumpet studies at age 12...showing an early ability with jazz improvisation and landing his first professional gig at the age of 17.

After studying jazz and performing as lead trumpet and flugelhorn soloist with several university jazz bands, Loran relocated to Dallas, Texas where his appreciation for Latin music grew. As lead trumpet and soloist with the Dallas-based "Carabali" salsa band, he found himself in the midst of progressive Latin music scene …opening for Willie Colon, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Ray de La Paz, El Gran Combo, Selena, and many others.

JazzAves

Jazz Aves is een jazzband,
bestaande uit professionele jazzmuzici. De leden van dit jazztrio hebben gestudeerd aan conservatoria in Den Haag, Tilburg en Arnhem, en hebben elkaar leren kennen in de ritmesectie van Het Brabants Jazz Orkest. Het speelplezier dat zij daar met elkaar ervoeren heeft geleid tot de oprichting van de achtergrond formatie Jazz Aves.

Jazz Aves heeft een bezetting met piano, drums en contrabas, en is gespecialiseerd in het verzorgen van jazz achtergrond muziek. De muziek die het jazztrio brengt bestaat uit bekend en onbekend werk van uiteenlopende jazzcomponisten. Al meer dan 20 jaar speelt The Autoreverse Jazz Orchestra oude jazz, waarbij we ons vooral richten op de vroege jazz uit de jaren '20 en '30.
